Verrucae Treatments

A verrucae is a type of a wart that occurs on the feet. Warts are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and are mostly found in moist and damp environments. They are contagious and await damage to the dermis which allows the virus to enter the body. This can lead to pain as the virus spreads and replicated into different areas of the skin. There are different types of verrucae treatments available and your Podiatrist will discuss which form is suitable for you.

Fine needles are punctured in to the verruca and dermo epidermal junction. This is intended to break down the verruca and create a controlled inflammatory response which, in turn, stimulates the body's immune system to recognise the virus and destroy. Falknor’s needling has one of the highest rates of success when it comes to verrucae removal. This treatment includes a one-hour appointment and a re-dressing appointment within 3-5 days. An additional charge of £50 is applied for additional verrucae.
